I might be missing something here, but in 2024 and previous releases, we were able to select a dimension from a sketch and get that to drive the length of a flange. In 2025 it appears this is no longer possible. can someone tell me what i have missed or why this is no longer possible? we can type in the dimension ID manually, just not select it from the screen.
Hi! This is still available but it requires a few clicks. You will need to click on the right-pointing arrow -> Select feature dimensions -> pick the feature in the graphics window -> pick the dimension.
Many thanks!
Thanks @johnsonshiue but that doesn't work with the sketches that haven't been used in a feature yet.
in the screenshot shown i want to make the flange 25mm and select the dimension to do that. i can't anymore.
also can't understand why this would have been removed or changed...
Hi Josh,
This is a very good point. It should work. Let me work with the project team to see how we can address this issue.
Many thanks!
Looks like an oversight when porting the Flange tool to the new property panel-type dialog.
This is only a very minor problem for me because I work with my dimension display set to Expression rather than the default Tolerance. Expression displays dimensions as the parameter name = exactly what I've typed in (equation or value), so it's very simple to read the sketch dimension name from the screen and type it into the Flange dimension field.
If you'd rather not do that, though, you can still just type in the value you want (25, in this case), then go back and edit it later with the dimension parameter name that you've looked up.
Still, it needs to be fixed!
