2017/2018 tweak line bug

I've noticed an odd bug when editing tweak lines in both 2017 and 2018 presentation files.  If you are trying to delete a tweak line segment, sometimes (most times) the tweak lines for the CURRENT tweak are not shown, so you can't delete them.  When you finish, either ok or cancel, the tweak line is visible.  So there IS a tweak line, but it does not display when editing the tweak.

If the tweak line has multiple segments, you can delete the FULL tweak line and recreate all the segments, but you cannot delete tweak line segments in the CURRENT tweak you are editing.  Frustrating and time consuming.  Let me know if there's something possibly wrong with my work flow, but I think it's fairly intuitive you should be able to edit the tweak lines in the tweak you are currently editing.

You are correct, you do not have a lot of options to edit the tweak lines during the tweaking command process but you do have some.  Using the mini-toolbar indicated below, what little you have is available.  Take a look at the screencast.

I agree if the "Trails Segments" worked as it sounds, more than one segment, you would probably have a lot better control.  I am sure you however are looking for the ability to change the tweak distance during the command as you can after committing.

the distance is fine - what I'm talking about is the ACTUAL line.

If the line is attached at the wrong point, I need to delete the existing line and add a new segment.  Before editing, the line exists, while editing it disappears.

What you show in the screencast works fine.  if you commit the tweak, and then go back later to delete that last segment you can't, because when you start the edit, the last line goes away.

Hello @Anonymous

Thanks for your reporting. I saw the problem and it's a limitation for now. I've reported this issue to product team and hope it could be resolved soon in the future.

Thanks!

A work around for now if someone comes looking is to create a temporary tweak to the same component AFTER the one you want to delete, then delete the previous segment, then edit the previous tweak to add the line you need, then delete the extra tweak.

It's a lot of extra work, but at least you can accomplish the task.
