Puzzle Maker

Hi guy's,

We recently had a big tradeshow in the benelux. Therefore I would like to do something with "Imagine, Design and Create" and also with Generative Design. Therefor I thought of making a puzzle with Inventor. So people had the chance to design something with Inventor, click a button and Inventor generates their puzzle. I know you can do this as well with 123D Make, but doing this with Inventor makes it a bit easier because you don't have to change software and it was a good test for me to get my programming skills to a higher level. 

The whole code is public on my github page (see link below). There are still some bugs, so if you would like to test it you can file a bug issue via github. The interface is in dutch now, but I guess you can imagine what's going on.

it would be nice if I could change the values for the width of the ribs and the spare. For wood or plastic I need another size / tolerance.

Hi @GeorgK,

that's possible, the parameters are hardcoded or hidden in the interface. The goal was to make a very simple interface for the tradeshow. If I have some time I'll create a new interface with all parameters available. But keep in mind that this is just something I created for a specific event and it's not intended as a replacement for http://www.123dapp.com/make.

This tool is fantastic, and very nearly solving a challenging problem for me (forum post); unfortunately, I cannot manage to get the correct sizes out of this.  The 'plate thickness' parameter doesn't come out as input, and the overall part size changes even if I put in the correct volume or disable 'volume scaling'.  I'm probably doing something wrong, but maybe you can advise me how to get the expected results?

In the meanwhile there is the Fusion Slicer which works awesome. Although it doesn't have a tool compensation as far as I know. So is your question still relevant? If so I'll dive into the tool again, it's been a while since I've worked with it. (It has also been a while since I used this account on the forums, but I'll check it more often from now on!).

PS. Try as I might, Slicer for Fusion 360 crashes constantly whichever machine I use it on. (Windows 10 or Windows 7)
