I have an assembly that I want to derive to a single part file. The original assembly file size is only 403 KB. Using the derive tool to bring the assembly in and create a single solid part makes the model size 13 MB. I'm not sure if my options settings is set correctly or there is nothing I can do. I attached my derived settings to see where I may have gone wrong
The assembly file contains no model data, only references to other parts. But when you derive the assembly it will load all the model data in the derived part. Check the combined filesize of all the parts in the assembly, this is probably close to the size of your derived part.
