Windows 10

Can you install 3DS Max with Windows 10?

I keep getting errors, I've tried every version.

I'm aware the reccommended says 7 and 8 only, but I was informed that Windows 10 would work too.

So annoying as I've just bought this laptop to do 3D modelling with! Smiley Sad

Hello @Anonymous

It should be able to work. I would like to suggest downloading the product using this download method.  To download try the following:

  1. Click on the following link:  Downloading Previous Versions of Autodesk Software Using the Virtual Agent
  2. Click the link in step 2 to access the Virtual Agent
  3. Click on Download Links
  4. Click on 3ds MAX Products
  5. Then on3ds MAX
  6. Select the appropriate product and click the link to download.  Note: Your product may have multiple files to download and you will need to download and activate each link separately.

It is necessary to perform the following steps to assure a successful installation:

  1. Make sure you Logon to your computer as an Administrator.
  2. Empty your TEMP folder.  To open the TEMP folder type %TEMP% in the address bar of Windows Explorer and hit Enter.  Delete all the contents of this folder.  Don't worry if deleting doesn’t remove everything by skipping files.
  3. Disable your Antivirus software.  All Antivirus programs are different.  You may need to consult your Antivirus website to learn how to temporarily disable your service.
  4. Disable UAC.  The following link will instruct you on how to disable UAC:

Turn User Account Control on or off

Double clicking on any of the downloaded files will begin the installation process.
