Hi,
Our facility has Maya float licenses for 2013 and 2014 in our server.
Maya 2013 works fine in our enviroment, but 2014 doesn't.
We use kubuntu as OS.
The msg I get from the terminal lanching maya 2014 is:
license problem in GUI mode launch dialog message
maya: License was not obtained
Tried Maya 2014 (657F1 2014.0.0.F), error 25
License method:
environment variable MAYA_LICENSE_METHOD='network'
Product choice:
environment variable MAYA_LICENSE='unlimited'
License file override:
environment variable MAYA_ALT_EN is not set
Does anyone know how I can fix that?
Thanks in advance for your attention.

Ubuntu is not supported. This means that if you get it running and it crashes, we can't help. That being said, there are a couple of good workflows on the web that have instructions to install on Ubuntu.
If you go here:
http://usa.autodesk.com/adsk/servlet/syscert?id=18844534&siteID=123112
1. Graphics
2. Maya | 2014
You will notice that it only mentions Redhat and CentOS.
Now to the error, if this happens on Redhat/Centos, I know for sure that you probably didn't run the 'adlmreg' command. The default Maya install method (linux) is to run Setup. If you don't use "setup", you need to run the 'rpm' and 'adlmreg' command.
Centos user here. Was wondering the same thing. Now I'm using my student serial number which is activated and works just not on my current setup.
I'm getting this error:
$ license problem in GUI mode launch dialog message
maya: License was not obtained
Tried Maya 2014 (657F1 2014.0.0.F), error 19
License method:
environment variable MAYA_LICENSE_METHOD='standalone'
Product choice:
environment variable MAYA_LICENSE='657f1'
License file override:
environment variable MAYA_ALT_EN is not set
I'm wondering if perhaps its a Consistent Network Device Naming issue but I'm not sure. I can hand over what ever details you need though.
Thanks in advance.
