Subscription expired, even though I have educational access

Anonymous

Hello,

I use Fusion 360 as a student since about 2 years and after the license changes applied, I confirmed my eligibility for the educational version. I got a confirmation for the access and got the product in my account. But when I open Fusion it says that my subscription is expired and i cant save files etc. and have limited functions only.

How can I solve this issue?

I reinstalled fusion and cleared my cache already.

I also deleted the LoginState file and relaunched fusion (https://forums.autodesk.com/t5/fusion-360-support/fusion-360-expired-even-after-education-account-re...). This did not solve the issue.

Thanks a lot in advance

Johannes

Hi @Anonymous,

Have you re-requested Fusion 360? Since you were on a license from a few years ago it was likely you were on an old license, which has since expired. Merely having educational access does not grant access to Fusion 360. You can request Fusion 360 from here: https://www.autodesk.com/education/edu-software/overview

Hi @leowarren34

I think I did as described. But I'm not sure if we mean the same thing or how I can varify it.

I posted a screenshot of my listed products from my account. Does this varify that I fulfilled all the requirements?

After getting the product, I reinstalled fusion also. But this did not solve the problem.

Thanks for your help.

Hi @Anonymous,

If you go to https://www.autodesk.com/education/edu-software/overview?sorting=featured&page=1 and see the banner with your name it, as I have here

Then the next steps would be to reach out to educational support: https://www.autodesk.com/education/support

Hi Leo, thanks for the reply. Yes, that banner is showing.

I contacted the support, but they told me to ask in the forums. 🙄

I think whomever you talked to at EDU Support was blowing you off: no one here can do anything about your subscription, most of us are end users just like you.

Call EDU Support back and be firm about fixing your issue, ask for a second level support if needed.

Good luck.

Hello @Anonymous,

Sorry for the delay, I was able to verify that your Fusion 360 entitlement is assigned to your account & that you should be able to sign-in.

Please collect & share the log files from your computer to investigate further.

Thank you.

Hello @Anonymous,

No problem, I reviewed your logs.

I located the following:

"WARNING :: Problem performing network operation... Trying again. "

Followed by a ssl error.

This indicates you are having network related issues.

To help resolve the issue reset the internet option to defaults (Windows):
  1. Clear the internet browser cache.
  2. Browse to Control Panel\All Control Panel Items\Internet Option.
  3. In the Advanced tab, select the Reset button to reset Internet Explorer's settings to the defaults
  4. In the Security tab, select Reset All Zones to Default level
  5. In the Content tab, select Clear SSL state
  6. Select Apply
  7. Re-test

Hi @natasha.l ,

Thank you for your reply.

I followed the steps, but unfortunately the issue still remains and fusion 360 reports "expired subscription - read only".

The network operation error might have occured due to temporary internet connectivity issues I had in the past.

Are there any other options to solve this problem?

Thank you very much.

Best regards

Johannes

Hello @Anonymous,

The log indicates that it is a network security issue in your environment.

Have you tried configuring the environment? If you have access to IT help ask them to configure your firewalls, and/or proxy servers for Autodesk Fusion 360:

Fusion 360 cannot access the services through proxy

Or temporarily disable/disconnect security features such as Antivirus, Firewall, VPN & UAC on your Windows operating system.

I tried that and also cleared the cache from fusion as well as logging out and in again. The issue still remains unfortunately.

Thanks for your help!

Hi @Anonymous,

Have you requested AutoCAD from https://www.autodesk.com/education/edu-software/overview again?

If it appears in https://manage.autodesk.com/ and you can access your license then it's fine, otherwise support will need to fix this.

I just started my subscription this month,  and on my dashboard, they are saying it's valid until Mai 2022, I contacted support but no answer yet, just a mail stating my case was opened.

Hi @Anonymous,

Did you have AutoCAD already installed on the computer you're using?

You may still need to visit Get Products and click "Get product" -> DOWNLOAD on the AutoCAD card to activate your educational product license, even if you already have AutoCAD installed.

You don't need to complete the download or reinstall, but clicking DOWNLOAD is what triggers your educational access to the product.

Does that work?

Gabe

Hello, no I didn't have AUTOCAD before

i tried again what you offered but the same problem, they ask me if I want to activate my license ( and ask me for its number ), or rn the trial period of 30 days, which I am doing every time I am opening AutoCAD now (and every day there is a countdown)

if I refuse, the message displayed is : the licence manager is not functioning or is improperly installed AutoCAD will shut down
