Student license doesn't work with the last version 2020.1

Hello everyone, have you experienced the same issue as me with the educational license when you updated to the 2020.1 version? How can it be solved?

thanks

I'm guessing your post was relocated here from a product-specific forum, so I'll have to ask...

What product?

Hi @Anonymous ,

I believe you are referring to InfraWorks 2020.1, correct?

I haven't heard of any other case where a student license stopped working after the update.

As a first troubleshooting step, delete file loginstate.xml in path C:\Users\<<USER>>\AppData\Local\Autodesk\Web Services.

Did that help?

Regards,

Karsten.

Are educational licenses also available as the multi-user type? If so, could it be that their license file needs updating to include the Infraworks product code?

@Anonymous , as far as I know student licenses are only individual single user licenses.

@Karsten.Saenger Second that, the only way to get site/institution licenses is through IT support role, and if they havent changed anything then Teacher.

@Anonymous I have had no issues with Inventor and many of the CAD apps. Have you updated the licenser?

The issue is about infraworks 2020.1. My license is valid and did not change since about one year. Also it work perfectly with the other softwares I installed.

Actually it worked until the last update with IW too

Hi @Anonymous ,

I think I have found the explanation for your issue in a FAQ info:

"I’m using an Educational (EDU) license, am I affected?
Educational licenses for InfraWorks (2020.1) are not available for single-user or multi-user access at this time."

So, the solution for you is to wait a bit until student licenses are supported for InfraWorks 2020.1 or re-install version 2020.0.

Regards,

Karsten.

Hi @Karsten.Saenger,

I have the same problem with infraworks 2020.1, but i edited some of the models in that version and upgrade them to that version. ( Did not assign the licence, I just continued to work in trial version).

Now I am affraid to re-install 2020 version of infraworks bcs of that models. I think that I will not be able to work in that models in version 2020.

Do you have any suggestion?

Best Regards,

Maja

I cannot revert back to 2020.0
I already clean uninstall Infraworks 2020.1: program files, program data, user data, registry editor, etc
but when i tried to install 2020.0 it says: "newer language pack already installed"
and failed to install
did i miss something? where is this language pack to be uninstalled?

@lonelanrete

Have you tried Microsoft Fixit?  https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/17588/windows-fix-problems-that-block-programs-being-instal...

Look for related language pack in the uninstall program list.

Hi @lonelanrete ,

I had similar problems uninstalling InfraWorks on one computer.

It finally worked after removing everything InfraWorks related via Windows Programs and Features menu. Then use Microsoft FixIt and clean everything that is still listed. After that, search your Autodesk Program Files and Program Data folders for InfraWorks Files and folders that might still be there.
Finally, open the registry and remove everything under Autodesk InfraWorks in HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Autodesk\ and HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Autodesk.

Once done - try to install the older version.

Regards,

Karsten.

already found the solution
need to search "infraworks" in registry editor and remove them. there are 2 registries for this infraworks language pack and content pack that is separated from Autodesk registry

Seriously? 2020.1 is still a problem let alone 2020.2?... I am just saying, Sir...with all due respect. We just have to wait as mentioned above.

At this rate 2021 will be out so hopefully that's an option to those who need infraworks.
