Starting a Helius trial

Dear all, 

 

perhaps you've seen something similar in the past. I downloaded Helius to see how it stacks up against ESAComp but I'm not getting past the first steps. The window that opens has some content but it's not centered. Helius seems to freeze and only task manager can get it out again.

 

What would you suggest?

Hello @Anonymous, 

 

It could be a hardware issue. Are you using multiple monitors? Try adjusting your display settings to meet the system requirements below on a single monitor & verify that you meet the requirements. 

 

 
Platform System Requirements:
  • Windows 7
  • Windows 8, 8.1
  • Windows 10
Note: Autodesk Helius Composite is a 32-bit application, but it will install and run in a 64-bit environment.

Minimum System Requirements:
  • Windows 7 or later
  • Intel Pentium 4 (800 MHz or faster) or later
  • Microsoft .NET Framework Version 4.0
  • 1 GB available hard drive space or higher
  • 3 GB available RAM or higher
  • 1024 x 768 monitor resolution or higher
  • Internet connection required for online license activation
 

It could also be an internet access issue preventing the interface from properly displaying. 

 

  1. Make sure you have an uninterrupted high-speed connection to the internet & try adjusting your  LAN  & proxy settings etc.
  2. Clean up the TEMP folder. To open the TEMP folder, type %TEMP% in the search bar by the Windows Start Menu and hit Enter, then delete unnecessary (Windows)
  3. Temporarily disable/disconnect security features such as Antivirus, Firewall, VPN & UAC on your Windows operating system.
  4. Make exceptions for the list of sites listed in these articles: What URLs/Protocols need to be allowed to access Autodesk Subcription Licensing

Cycled the screen resolution down incrementally until it was readable. After that I was able to switch back to 4K and Helius still working. Many thanks for help!
