Software License Check Out Failed Error 5

Hello,

I have been experiencing this problem since today i have got 3DS Max, yes i know i need to delete CascadeInfo.cas, but i haven't got it on my PC, running on Windows 8. I only see productinformation.pit and that's it.

I haven't got any clue how to fix this.

I hope you guys may be able to help me out..

Greetings,

Weecow

Have you tested all the connectivities to your license manager?  PING to verify IPv4?  Tested ports 2080 and 27000?  The CascadeInfo.cas file will not be created until it makes a valid connection.  I suspect firewall or IPv6 is the issue.

Then I assume you have the stand-alone activated license version?

Weecow,

Hello. Not sure why you would need to delete the cascadeinfo.cas file. So far, Cascaldeinfo.cas has nothing to do with your issue. And please do not delete your Pit file. I am guessing you are a standalone installation. We see this error occasionally with a standalone. If you are a network, this is totally different. If you don’t know if you are using a network seat, you need to talk to your IT manager. If you are just a one man shop- likely standalone.

You need to uninstall and reinstall. I have a process for you. First, uninstall the program through the Control Panel.

After this, run the MS Fixit uninstaller and see if the product still lists. If it does, uninstall it.

http://support.microsoft.com/mats/Program_Install_and_Uninstall\

Next, delete the MAX program folders in these locations (they should be clearly named).

C:\Program Files\Autodesk\

C:\ProgramData\Autodesk\

C:\Program Files (x86)\Autodesk\

C:\Users\All Users\Autodesk\

C:\Users\**YOUR USERID**\AppData\Roaming\Autodesk\

C:\Users\**YOUR USERID**\AppData\Local\Autodesk\

After these are deleted, I would reinstall as an admin with UAC and antivirus turned off.

Thank you for taking part in our community!

I have been trying to install Autodesk 3ds Max 2014 on Windows 8 and hitting this error:

Examining file at AppData\Local\Autodesk\3dsMax\2014 - 64bit\ENU\MAXENT_2014_en-US_adlm.txt shows logs as below:

3456 2013/08/13 10:26:37 Reason=Fatal error

3456 2013/08/13 10:26:37 AdlmIntError=5 [Unable to launch or connect to LMU]

Anybody knows how to connect to LMU? Is there an AutoDesk service pack available for this issue?

Here's the stack trace for the app crash.

So your telling me you have no fix for a error 5 that autodesk has made  for conection issues to activate the software.  And you have no support technions  to address  how to disable IV6  so that  just   the IV4 conects to base servers?  Sounds like you  need to find away to have a patch that can fix the reg of a computer  in  a remote seting. where can i get the old software that worked correctly with out  a  error. you can tell me you  have not fixed  this for someone  before.   Myt issue is this it installes correctly    just the actvation fails  because of your internet valdation can  make a conection.   even though its been installed  from  internet  you need  a  hotfix to patch this!!

Welcome to the community.

Check to see if the 2014 Activation crash is applicable to your issue.

Also, add the application to your firewall exceptions or as a trusted application.  Error 5 is sometimes a blocking error.

Welcome to the community..

This posting that you replied to is 3 years old.  "Experiencing the same problem"  Can you give us more details?  I don't want to assume that you are using the same Autodesk product and version as the original poster had.  What type of license is it?
