Script Error Message When Starting AutoCAD 2020

When I try to start AutoCAD 2020 I get a message that says their was a script error. The url for the error is http://127.0.0.1:51151/ui/v1/app.min.js?cacheBuster=1.1.274. I have tried clicking yes, no or closing out of the error window only to get permanently stuck with this message on a white screen.

I've tried a lot of different solutions but none of them have worked. Please let me know if there is something that has worked for this issue.

Hello @Anonymous,

Have you recently installed AutoCAD 2020? It is important for us to know when the script error appeared & to have a screen shot of the error.

It can be related to the lack of account assignment to the product during license validation or due to application issues.

Occurs after installation at first launch

  1. Conduct a Clean Uninstall of the previous installation & use the MSfixitTool to complete it

Reboot the computer, make sure apps are not auto running in the background

  1. Set Up & Manage Users
  2. Resetting and Changing Your Autodesk Account Credentials

Also review, Rules for assigning named users on Desktop Subscription.

If you continue to have an issue please reach out to the  Account Management team for assistance.

Unrelated to the installation

Edit properties on the desktop shortcut

  1. Right-click the shortcut icon and select Properties.
  2. On the Shortcut tab, edit the path in the Target text box.
    1. Find and delete /language “en-US”
    2. Click OK.
    3. Start the product again.

Run as administrator

  1. Right-click the desktop shortcut or file for the product.
  2. Select Run as Administrator.
  3. If the product opens without a script error, close it.
  4. Launch the product again by double-clicking the shortcut.

Start the product from a DWG file
Double-click any DWG file to start AutoCAD or AutoCAD LT. If the product starts without script errors, you may be able to start it from the desktop icon in the future.

My Revit has same problem going on. I have deleted the program for three times and also done this modification to shortcut. And it does not help even running it as administrator. Still ending up to the same problem. Latest updates are installed to all programs.

What now?

Hi! I've followed all of your steps, and uninstalled/reinstalled four times now. Each time I start CAD, I get the attached error message. I should note that I am using the trial version. Please advise. Thanks!

Hi!

In my case the solution was to create a new windows profile as administrator. The old profile was also administrator profile but there were some problems that did not let the pop up window open and thats why the software didn't work as it should.

I hope this message will help you in your case also!
