Revit Install Issues

Hi,

I'm trying to install a student version of Revit on my computer. I've been reading through a lot of the queries to date, but can't find any info on the one I'm having unfortunately. I can't get it to install unfortunately

My computer runs with windows 8.1 & it's 64bit. From scrolling through previous threads I believe I need to download Revit15 would i be correct?

Prior to install I've checked "ïnstall tools & utilities" & the Revit Server is advising that i'm not meeting the systems minimum requirements and I need to install "windows server 2008 R2 SP1",

I've tried to download this, but my computer is advising i already have this update.

Am I doing something silly on install. Any info would be appreciated as its a bit beyond me. Thanks,

Revit Server can only be installed on Windows Server operating system. Usually this is a dedicated workstation or server with the OS installed so that multiple users can connect central models to in order to work share over a WAN.

You do t need this if its just yourself using the software.

As for Revit 2015, this can be installed on the following OS's...

Hi Duncan,

Thanks for explaining that. I tried to do a quick install again & I'm getting a pop up. It's advising I re-install due to a connection or firewall issue, but i dont think its either of these things. Is there an easy fix for this. Thanks,

Yes there is, on the screenshot it recommends for you to download another way. The most successful way to download Autodesk products is via the Browser Download option. You can use Autodesk Account, Education Centre or the Autodesk Virtual Agent to do this but make sure you chose the Browser Download option and not Install Now or Download Now.
