Hi all. I am completely lost with the installment of Revit 2024. I tried to install it the "traditional way" where you just download it and install, but I get a message telling me to find the rvt.msi file. How is it possible for me to have it when it isn't even installed? Then I downloaded a "custom install", once Revit was installing it asked me for the rvt.msi file, I found it, selected it and then it says it is not valid!!!. I have tried 3 times already and get the same every single time. Is there anyone who knows what is going on because I am completely lost and am about to have a nervous breakdown. HELP anyone.
I just managed to install revit 2024. How I did it.
I bought an uninstall tool.
Deleted everything “Autodesk” plus registry items.
Cleaned registry with ccleaner, 2- 3 times until there were no errors.
Rebooted pc
Installed flawlessly.
I think what went wrong is that I have an educational licence and had already installed revit 2022. When I uninstalled it from control panel/programs in windows I think there might have been left over files that conflicted with the newer edition? I have no idea exactly, but it did work and I did manage to install revit 2024. This resolved the missing rvt.msi issue.
