Revit 2024: "Failed to initialize DownloadManager!"

I am attempting to install Revit 2024. I downloaded the Autodesk_Revit_2024_CWB_install.exe file and double clicked it which from what I can understand is meant to run the Autodesk Create Installer, but instead I get a "Failed to initialize DownloadManager!" error and the process stops.

What are the next steps required to get this issue resolved?

The above link does not resolve my issue. The Autodesk Access Service Host is running on my system and I still get the same "Failed to initialize DownloadManager!" error.

It should be noted that the above described issue occurs when I try to use the following file:

Create_Installer_RVT_2024_English_WIN64.exe

If I try to use the Autodesk_Revit_2024_ML_setup_webinstall.exe file I get a "7-Zip Error".

I have consulted with the 7-Zip Error thread on the forum, but none of it seems applicable to my issue.

The links in the above reply reference P1,P2,P3,P4,P5, but the files are P1(x4) and P5. Can you please resend p2-p4?

Hi Mike, Thanks for the revised link. I downloaded all 5 of the files and then ran #1. It failed to get past 3% and ended with an Install error, Error-9.

The "How do I fix this?" link is broken and leads to a 404 Error

Am I doing something wrong? Any other ideas?

That sounds like a missing Windows update:

Any pending updates? What's the current build of Windows? Can you share the Winver?

Windows Update says I'm current.

I'm running Windows 10 Pro Ver 22H2 Build 19045.3570

I'm still looking at something PC related .. I use those installers (as do others) numerous times a week if not numerous times daily.

Nothing wrong with those installers.

So we need to go backwards:

Let's clean out the %temp% folder.

Let's run the Microsoft FixIt tool ..

Maybe a new Windows Temporary profile

The Troubleshooting program was not able to identify the issue.

Let it finish .. and then retry.

Delete everything prior from C:\Autodesk

Clean out the %temp% folder

Clean out the C:\download except for the 5 downloads.  Re-extract it.

I'd consider a different Windows profile to test too.

Mike,

Can you please clarify what is intended by %temp% folder? Is it the C:\Windows\Temp or the

C:\Users\profile\AppData\Local\Temp folder or something else?

put %temp% in the Windows Explorer and it'll bring it up

or put it in the Search for the Windows box.

I Deleted everything in the C:\Autodesk Folder

I Deleted everything in the %temp% folder

I Deleted everything in C:\download and then redownloaded the 5 downloads.

I Re-extract the installer by clicking on file 1 of 5 and it extracted everything into C:\Autodesk\Revit_2024_G1_Win_64bit_dlm and the installer began.

It again failed and presents the Install Error -9 message as it did above.

What else can be done?

@walter_beamer logout as you then log back into your PC as an all-new user with full admin rights.
When you are ready to install the software, right-click on the first installer file you downloaded and select RUN AS ADMINISTRATOR.

Best of luck.
