Revit 2022 custom installation

Just having a first look a setting up a custom deployment using the new online custom install tool and it doesn't seem to be that great, I'm used to the basic options of being available to set it to use a configured Revit.ini and even not put a shortcut for the application on the users desktop.

Am I missing something obvious or is this what Autodesk now call progress, any help would be gladly welcomed.

Hello @Dazzman

The Revit team as created some step by step documentation that should help. Keep in mind, Autodesk account administrators have access to the "Custom Deployment" option (vs. Custom Install).

Make sure to review the information below, the "Customizations" link covers the steps for the Revit ini file.

Thanks for the information it appears I'm able to setup a custom revit.ini file the only problem I still have is stopping the deployment from putting a shortcut for the application onto the users desktop as that there doesn't appear to be a checkbox option to stop this.

One other issue I've found is that if I click this link in the online guides

It appears to go to a dead link?

Thanks.

To disable the desktop shortcut you have to pass the property ADSK_DESKTOPSHORTCUT_1 with the value 0 to the rvt.msi.

To do this see here:

Thanks for the information it work perfectly, I also manged to find the location of the revit.ini file deployment in the Collections.xml in the images folder so I'm now good to go on the installations.
