Repair mode Revit 2017 installation fails

I have a machine where Revit 2017 crashed today... now it will not run at all... and does not display any error.

When I attempt either a Repair or reinstall from Programs and Features the process fails. When I dismiss the error and cancel I am force to reboot the machine. If I try any another Repair or Reinstall I get Programs and Features dialog to "Please wait until the current program is finished uninstalling or being changed."

Hello @mdhutchinson,

Yes, try to conduct a Clean Uninstall of the program use MSfixitTool to complete the uninstall & help clean the registry.

Thank you.

This morning I had a second computer doing the same behavior... launch Revit, the splash screen shows, the Revit interface opens, but then Revit crashed hard without error/warning.

Last night I attempted Repair mode. I had users project folder pointed to a user's personal drive on a network server keyed into the deployment. The repair mode run didn't like the P drive... and caused the Repair mode to throw an error. I ended up trying to do a clean install on only Revit 2017. (normally I do clean install for complete reinstall of Autodesk software).

But as it turned out we use SysQue on Revit for Duct and for Pipe... The Trimble License Server has some sort of clitch on their end... that tripped fatal error on the Revit Startup. We didn't learn of this until today (Friday 8/4).  I hadn't yet started the re-install on the second computer... thankfully!

At any rate, the repair mode last night and the clean reinstall was not needed... I should have waited until this morning when I learning about SysQue licenses server issue.

At any rate... the case is solved.
