There are two patches that can help with this issue.  Try the first one (LicenseService) can be installed, then restart the PC. If the issue continues please install the 2nd one (SSO) listed below.  If that doesn’t work, please try step 4. Please ensure all Autodesk applications are closed before doing any of the following.

  1. Download and install the Autodesk License Service update https://knowledge.autodesk.com/search-result/caas/downloads/content/autodesk-licensing-service-downl...
  2. Close the Autodesk Desktop App from the Windows Task Manager, reopen the software and sign in.
  3. Download and install the Autodesk Single Sign On (SSO) Component https://knowledge.autodesk.com/support/autocad/troubleshooting/caas/simplecontent/content/autodesk-s... (You will need to reboot your PC is you see the following message and then try the install again)

@Anonymous Excellent tip.

For those not facing the actual issue noted above... There was a temporary glitch yesterday (January 17th) that logged many people out: Autodesk resolved it all in 10-15 minutes. Not much needed to be done for those affected after waiting for a bit.

So I'm still seeing some stuck in limbo ...   and having to do the resetting of the license.
