Problem installing Maya 2017 Updates

Not applicable

I am having problems with my student version of Maya 2017 on Windows PC, and I need the 2017 version for my class. My problem first started when I noticed the UV Toolkit was absent from my UV editor, and I was told to download the five updates from the Autodesk Desktop App. Once I downloaded the updates, all my past project models were ruined and destroyed beyond recognition. I assumed something went wrong with the updates, and I redownloaded Maya 2017.

I went back into the Autodesk Desktop App to download the updates, and App stated there were no updates available. My UV Toolkit is still missing from the UV Editor.

Does anyone have any suggestion on how I can get the UV Toolkit for Maya 2017?

Hello @Anonymous,

Sorry to hear you can't locate this tool. Try reset Maya to defaults described here.

If you continue to have an issue please uninstall & reinstall using the steps below.

  1. Conduct a Clean Uninstall of the previous installation & use the MSfixitTool to complete it
  2. Reboot the computer, make sure apps are not auto running in the background
  3. Log in as Administrator (check your permissions, full control) or create a new profile
  4. Make sure you have a strong connection & good internet speed
  5. Clean out the TEMP folder. To open the TEMP folder, type %TEMP% in the address bar of Windows Start Menu and hit Enter (Windows)
  6. Temporarily disable security settings like Antivirus, Firewall & UAC on your Windows operating system
  7. Use the Browser Download Method in your Autodesk Account or via the AVA | Autodesk Virtual Agent (download all the parts)
  8. Then, apply the updates in your Autodesk Account

Let us know how it turns out.
