Problem Instaling AutoCAD Mechanical

Running into an issue when attemting to install any autodesk ed product. The file downloads correctly, but when I open the file, The program runs for a few seconds, then crashes with no explanation or error messages. When I say run, I mean that the program is running, but there is no UI present; I just see it in task mgr for a few seconds. I believe that I have done everything recomended before installation including deleting the temp folder and previous versions, close all foreground programs, disable the Norton antivirus (to what degree that I can) and keeping the download window open.

Not sure what causes this, but I hope someone here can point me in the right direction.

Also should be noted that I am using Windows 10 Pro, 64 bit.

Thanks

Hello  grantm96 and welcome to the community!  Typically when any Autodesk product opens then crashes the first step is to update the graphics card.

1. Go to Start-Search-Device Manager-Display Adapters and note which driver you have NVIDIA, AMD, etc.

2. Go to that manufacturers website and use their driver search tool to find the driver update on your machine.

3. Install that driver.

4. Restart the machine.

5. Retry the software

If that does not work.  See if you have all the latest service packs installed.  Click on the Application Manager in your task bar, right click on the A icon and hit Check Now to refresh and see if there are any updates.  If so, install those updates.

If that does not work, check to make sure your Flexnet Service is running:

  1. Access the Windows Run box.
  2. Type Services.msc and press Enter.
  3. Search for FLEXnet Licensing Service or FLEXnet Licensing Service 64.
  4. Make sure the services are started and running.
(If they are disabled, they will prevent the program from starting.)

Here is a great article for more information about an Autodesk program not opening.

I tried both approaches, and neither are currently working. I did have to enable the FLEXnet, but that made no difference in the program launching.
