Network Licence Multiple computers

Hi,

I have recently upgraded to 2018 from 2012 and I am having issues setting up the licencing.

I have a network licence type.

Network Licence manager LMTOOLS. Is currently installed and working on Computer A. I have tried to install 2018 onto Computer B, but it doesn't work the same. Is LMTOOLS supposed to be installed on a server that all the computers are connected to or installing it on each computer should work?

What i want to be able to do is use AutoCAD on any of the computers as long as its not already open on another computer so the licence would only be active on one PC at a time.

The Autodesk License manager can be installed on a server or pc as long as the connecting machines can communicate (ping) with that server or pc.

What do you mean it doesn't work the same?  We need details because that could mean so many things..  Smiley Wink

Hello @Anonymous,

Your LMtools can be installed on a computer or a server but it needs to be on the network so that computers connected to the network can access the network licenses serviced by LMtools.

A license file first needs to be generated or requested here:

1. Generate a Network License File in Autodesk Account or Requesting a Network License File

Note: In the case where you have combined the license with an existing license file (make sure to check for copy/paste errors)

*If you need help Finding Your Host Name and Physical Address

Then, the NLM needs to be installed and setup:

2. Make sure you meet the NLM requirements to Install & Configure it

3. Then, on each Client computer at launch, specify a License Server "2080@ServerName"

Note: Contact Support for Network Licensing help with your setup
