Please listen closely to my plea because I am in a VERY desperate situation!
I need to acquire a license for SketchBook Designer 2014 and I'm am willing to do just about anything to get one!
I already know I'm probably going to get the same answers as usual when I inquire about this software:
-"Sketchbook Designer will no longer be supported after 2014" - I understand this. I'm willing to use the software without support and take the risk. I want to own a liscecned copy no matter what it takes.
-"Sketchbook Designer can only be purchased through a product Design Suite" - I know this too. It was tossed into most of the 2014 suites. The problem is that it is now 2015 and I cannot get a 2014 suite anymore. Annoyingly, on the AutoDesk website it says that SketchBook Designer is included in the suites.... UNTIL you click on "Learn More" and "Included Software" and it is NOT displayed in the product list at all. I even download one of the trials to double check and it is not included, this is almost obvious because I don't think there is or ever will be a new 2015+ Sketchbook Designer software. It's been killed off. Is there any way at all I can get ONLY this software legally from AutoDesk?
Now, the reason why I'm so picky about this is actually kind of simple. I am completely disheartened that AutoDesk decided to discontinue Sketchbook Designer. I am an arist and graphic designer and this is the ONLY software I was comfortable using. I LOVE the point-and-click vector drawing tools that work like CAD software. SketchBook Pro lacks this very very cruical feature in my line of work. There is NOTHING on the market from other software manufacturers that are similar and can compete with SB Designer in this respect. I have tried others like Adobe Illustrator but I was not satisfied. Why AutoDesk decided to remove Designer is beyond me and it is incredibly frustrating! I don't care if the older SB Design was buggy and somewhat unstable. I LOVED it and I NEED it to continue working on projects that I have started elsewhere for both my career and my hobbies.
In short, I am BEGGING that if there is ANY way I can get a copy of Sketchbook Designer 2013 or 2014, I will gladly do what it takes to get it.
AutoDesk seems very ademate that I cannot have SketchBook Designer here in 2015. My previous 2014 version was licensed through my school and is no longer accesible by me. I am asking if a special exception can be made or an agreement that would allow me to own 2014 Designer and license it for use from now into the future. I will pay the cost of the software, however it would be completely unreasonable to buy an entire 2014 suite if I'm only going to ONLY use one ~$100 software from the entire package... It's ridiculous. I don't get why it's so hard to satisfy this request when basically EVERY other AutoDesk product can be purchased standalone - including SketchBook Pro which is fantastic, but isn't right for what I need.
I have tired to find a proper contact for AutoDesk directly but I'm not getting through so I had to post here to the forums.
I am extremely desperate to own this software at almost any cost. I'm at wits end trying to get it and so far it is not going in my favor.
PLEASE, AUTODESK, someone! Is there anything I can do to get SketchBook Designer?!
I don't care if you don't support it anymore - if something goes wrong, I understand I am completely on my own in regards to maintaining the software.
I am extremely desperate for this. And very very frustrated that it is practically IMPOSSIBLE to get this AutoDesk software that I love.
It's like I'm offering AutoDesk my money and they refuse to take it from me, I don't understand...
Thank you in advance for any guidance or help with the matter.
Ideally, what I'd like to happen is get in contact with an AutoDesk official who can somehow supply me with a purchasable version of Sketchbook Designer 2014. This is definitely a stretch and a very special case, but I am begging!! Absolutely begging for the right to have this software. What can be done to satisfy this request?
Best regards,
Dylan Denton
