@Chris_Baze

Your title states Navisworks Manage 2020 but you are talking about what's new in Revit 2020.  Which one are you talking about?

Anyhow you should be asking in the related forum this question.   This is not an installation and licensing question..   Or perhaps you can just google it..  Smiley LOL

Sorry. I meant Navisworks, and posted it into the Navisworks forum. Some genius at Autodesk immediately moved my post here for some reason...

I'll request it be moved to Navisworks.

Maybe because there is nothing new, just like previous 5 versions Smiley Happy Except for faster clash detection. Not sure if other users noticed already, but if you ask something on Navisworks API forum, and it's not a basing thing, there is 0 chances to get the answer. I'm 99% sure Autodesk abandoned this product and moved all forces to the BIM 360 vertical.

Surprised that 2020 made it if that's the case.

Please, by deploying in that manner, I can promise you I’ll deliver software for the next 10 years. Navis’s team task board:

1. Replace splash screen

2. DeploymentYear++

That’s it. No changes in API, no changes for the end-users. I’ve reported a few errors, nothing there as well.

I probably guess there might be some security stuff in the background if we're lucky...

The company line is still "No, no, no, we're still actively developing this product line".

Fortunately the evidence proves the contrary. we're up to year 6 of no improvements now, and those awesome clash detective bugs are still persistent. AND the BIM 360 glue platform is still in nappies (diapers for our US brethren).

Standard Autodesk operating procedure IME.

Oh, it’s even worse, try to get any answer regarding Navisworks API (I mean serious answer to serious question), you will not have any. I’ve found a few serious errors (like one related to changing color and opacity), answer has never came. In order to get a lot of things done, I’ve developed my own plugin for different reporting tasks - and it’s a larger workflow change than anything for the past 6 year in the Navisworks (and I’m a single developer, working from time to time on that).

But, there is a number of new projects not using Navisworks (or any Autodesk product) for BIM, so I hope Autodesk will notice decrement in daily users.

Not to just pile on... but I will. NWM has just been neglected. Just fixing the persistent UI issues that literally kill production would be a step forward.

You don't have to completely redesign the darn thing, just keep polishing it.  The UI is garbage and there's been little to no effort to improve it. Very disappointing ADSK- NWM should be a flagship product just like Revit.

Venting about a given product to the users is not really going to make a difference..   Have you provided feedback directly to Autodesk https://www.autodesk.com/company/contact-us/product-feedback

Yes @Mark.Lancaster I have. Back in 2016, 2017, 2018... the UI issues have never been addressed by ADSK.

You're also right. Venting on the forums doesn't do anything but make me feel better, it doesn't help the development team identify and resolve issues with the products. Thanks for keeping me grounded.

No problem..   And yes venting is always good...  In addition some people just don't know about the feedback site and wanted to share just in case you didn't know.

Have a great day...
