My computer wont let me install MotionBuilder

I tried customer support on Twitter but they eventually redirected me here
https://twitter.com/AutodeskHelp/status/854330663364964352

I try to install but I keep getting this

fail2.PNG

So he gave me instructions on enabling the applications for internet explorer now when I get to this part

open.PNG

It won't even open and when I try installing ones that I downloaded earlier I get the same window as above still.

Hello KaijuD

It looks like you are stuck at the activation/installation step while attempting to download software, or are having problems with starting your software immediately after installing. The following article(s) should help you resolve the problem:

Communication Failure message during download and installation - Note that this article also provides alternate downloading and installation methods.

Application Manager Update stuck at installing

In order to manually activate your software (in cases where the activation appears stuck), please refer to Manually Activating Your Autodesk Software.

If the activation window is not displayed, others have resolved this by completely uninstalling and reinstalling their software. Please refer to How to Remove all Software from a Windows System for assistance.

Hello @Anonymous,

If you are using a download now or install now try you want to try a more effective method called "browser download" on your Autodesk Account.

  1. Log in as an Administrator
  2. Empty your TEMP folder. To open the TEMP folder, type %TEMP% in the address bar of Windows Start Menu and hit Enter
  3. Temporarily disable your Antivirus software & Firewall
  4. Temporarily disable UAC:  Windows 7 , Windows 10
  5. Download by using a "Browser Download" on your Autodesk Account

If you have no other options for download:

  1. Temporarily disable Firewall & Antivirus
  2.  Check the Internet Explorer connection settings section of the article.

Let us know how it goes. Smiley Happy

@Anonymous.Green I tried that I only get as far as 1:03 because I can't even download it. The button just refreshes when I click it.

My antivirus and firewalls are already temporarily disabled. The guy on twitter said to go to internet explorers and edit the applications on the IE security but now I can't even open the files (before I was able to download them but not install them)

Now we're getting somewhere... Use Microsoft Fixit to uninstall MotionBuilder, then run the installation again.

Hello @Anonymous,

It keeps pulling a previously corrupted installation that doesn't allow you to install a new one. Let's try to conduct a clean uninstall of the product using yet another utility below.

Try conducting a Clean Uninstall again use MSfixitTool to complete the uninstall & CCleaner it will remove Windows Installation files that may not have been removed by the uninstall process. Empty your TEMP folder.

Then, try to install the software again.

NOTE: The registry cleaner function of this utility will remove components that do not uninstall properly. After restarting your computer, you should be able to install the program.

Let us know. Smiley Happy

Hello @Anonymous,

You may consider trying to reset the internet connection settings. It seems that there may be a connectivity issue.

  1. Clear the browser cache
  2. Check the Internet Explorer connection settings
  3. Temporarily disable all security settings on your browser (pop-up blocker etc.)

UPDATE:

From here, if you only want to test the software, click Run else, click Activate if you own a copy of the software. Are you getting an error during the activation process?

What license type did you purchase?
