Maya 2020 Install Error - 1603

I have educational licenses for Maya 2018 and Maya 2020 and had uninstalled Maya 2018 and installed Maya 2020 a few months ago. Today I hit an issue with Maya 2020 that caused me to have to uninstall it completely, but I've been unable to reinstall it due to error 1603.
However, I was able to reinstall Maya 2018 successfully today.

I did a complete clean uninstall of all maya / autodesk related programs on my PC before attempting to reinstall Maya 2020, I went through various resolutions (turn off firewall, clean uninstall and reinstall, update registry settings for short naming, install licensing hotfix, clear temp folder, ensure folders have adequate permissions).

I believe this may be a licensing issue, as when I reinstalled Maya 2018 it thought I had a trial version and I had to manually provide my key.

Attached are my install and uninstall log files.

Thanks in advance for any help.

Hello @Anonymous,

Sorry to hear you are experiencing issues installing. The latest Autodesk installers have new licensing features. Keep in mind that full control permissions, uninterrupted access to your system & internet access is necessary during this process.

Your log shows "File will have security applied from OpCode." OpCode is a cyber security tool. You will need to temporary disable or uninstall it.

  1. Temporarily disable security settings like Antivirus, Firewall & UAC on your Windows operating system
  2. Make sure you have an uninterrupted high-speed connection to the internet & try adjusting your LAN  & proxy settings etc. Also sign out of VPN if necessary.
  3. Install the latest Autodesk Licensing Service update & make sure the service is running
  4. Whitelist the sites listed in these articles:

Let us know how it turns out.
