Maya 2018 and the Administrator Code for mental rays?

Hey everyone, I have a question about Maya 2018: I am trying to downlaod and use the program so I can take advantage of the program's ability to run Nvidia Mental Rays on the program itself. Long story shirt: This is because I am trying to edit a Stewart model from Animation  Mentor. Apparently, the model will not open in the way it's supposed to without having a version of Maya with Mental rays. I have downloaded Maya 2018 but it's asking for this Licence Server System code. Where do I find this code?

thats because you installed as a network licenses so its looking for a license on your local network

was it supposed to be installed this way?

I bought the computer through my school's program where we get a discount from Autodesk. I simply downloaded Maya 2020 for free, it didn't come with the computer. So I recently downloaded.

your school shouldn’t be selling you licenses 

Autodesk offers student licenses for free if you qualify for one

I am sorry I misunderstood your question and my initial impression was false, I simply downloaded the program from Autodesk but I am not sure where the local network comes into play here. When I downloaded it, I simply downloaded to my computer only, I do not recall ever downloading it through a local network

you install it wrong

if this doesn’t work you will need to uninstall/reinstall
