I just downloaded and installed Maya 2016 30 day after reading on your website that the
30 day trial edition doesn't need a product key or serial number, yet upon first opening the
program, it's asking for both. I downloaded using the virtual agent and did not get a serial
number. What do I do?
I didn't log into my account before I did the download, so no serial number or product
key was sent to me.
Hi @powerandlight0 and welcome to the Autodesk Community!
Had you previously installed a Maya 2016 trial on your computer? Do you not see the option to simply continue with the trial?
I am having the same problem. I downloaded Maya 2016 30 day trial before logging into my account and I need a serial number. Can someone please help.
Cynthia
Welcome to the community..
Are you a student? Or is the license based on a commercial license? Have you logged in your Autodesk Account and retrieved the serial # or are you not seeing anything? In trial mode, it should always started by prompting you with the days left and do you want to activate your product. Do you see that?

First thing.. You should never response to a forum posting with your email signature. It puts all of your email signature info into the forum and do you really want to share this information in a public world wide forum..
Secondly.. Its a trial.. No serial # needed. Serial #s are only issued if you are a student or actually purchased it (well now-a-days subscribe to it).

You should just be able to continue installing without a serial number (unless the installation method chosen was for network license, trials are single-user license only). If it stubbornly refuses to proceed without a serial number, traditionally Autodesk has used "all zeroes" for the trial serial number. You'll still need the correct product ID.
Hello @cynthia.gonzalezAVGBS,
While you are installing at some point you will reach the "Let's Get Started" screen. There will be a blue link right below the activation options "Start a Trial". There is no need to activate with a serial number.
