Greetings

 

I am new to this forum and this program 🙂

All i want to ask is why everytime I want to start Autocad its always shown up that License error. license manager is not functioning or improperly installed.

 

FYI : I using the trial version of autocad 2018. I've been reinstall it almost 5times and still about license error.  There is no error number too. 

Please help me 🙂

1st option:


In the Run window, type services.msc and then click OK.


Scroll down to FlexNet Licensing Service 64, double click on it


Change startup type to 'Automatic' and then start the service.


Right-click on the AutoCAD Icon, choose, 'Run as Administrator', and see if it runs correctly.

Hello thank you for your help sir.

but the bad news is I've tried all the steps that you give to me and still is not working.

For your info when i make this post i still try at trial version. and then I decided to register as standalone ( i think i will got better result, and I really need this program to learn and teach some of my students so I register as a teacher ). I do got a product key and serial number. But when I install it, it never ask me that product key and serial number. been trying to install since yesterday but the result stay the same lol. 

So now the license manager still error, and when I install it, it never ask me to enter the product key and serial number. How to solve this sir, maybe you can help me :).

For product version 2017 and 2018 it doesn't ask for serial #/product key in the installation.  It will ask that information when you first launch it.  However you just indicated you are using the educational version which means the serial # and product key information is automatically part of the download.

 

What Autodesk product and version are you trying to get to work? 

 

Just realized you stated AutoCAD 2018...  Locate this folder C:\ProgramData\Autodesk\CLM\LGS   (Folder C:\Programdata is a hidden folder by default and you may need to change your viewing options)

 

What do you see (folder wise) under there?

thank you sir, I have look inside the folder you said, so inside the LGS folder there is 001**_2017.0.0.F and inside this folder there is a LGS.data.txt

Its actually named LGS.DATA.TXT?  Open that file, what does it state?

no, I think i changed it after following some steps above... ( I give the screenshot )

its state _STANDALONE.  I just following some steps above that said to delete the original LGS.data and replace with the new 1, just like that. what should i do here sir?

Hello @Anonymous, 

 

The whole process you conducted is referred to as a license reset outlined throughout the Autodesk website & in this post, License Reset, Change License Type or Serial Number

 

  1. If you conducted one of these sequences of steps, you now need to launch/start AutoCAD
  2. Select "Enter Serial Number" & activate with your student serial# & product key. Be sure to type the serial # & product key do not copy/paste. +

thank you for your answer, I have tried your steps but still it didnt work for me. 

I have try clean uninstall and it still not working here. 

Same issue License manager is not functioning. 

I am eally desperate about this problem, is there any way to solve this.

@Mark.Lancaster I just reinstall it, and before I reinstall I cleaning in the regedit and delete autodesk folder. 

I have change the flexnet option in service.msc too make it automatic and make the status running. still the license manager doesnt work. lol

then what shoudl I do ?

@Anonymous, I hate to jump in on an issue where you're already working with 2 EE's and an Autodesk Rep, but I couldn't help to think about your comment above and needed to get clarification... Smiley Wink

 

When you said, you tried a clean uninstall, did you remove all Autodesk applications, then deleted the remaining folders as described in the "Clean Uninstall" link in my signature?

 

If you performed those steps, you shouldn't have this issue because all of the licensing modules would've been recreated. Can you share the installation log file found in your %temp% folder?

Yes I do all the CLEAN UNINSTALL steps yesterday, but still it did not change anything at all lol.

So in this condition, what should I do ? Its been 4 days I repeating all those steps but still nothing is changed here. Maybe you can give me an advise... 

I read a post that a guy have to reinstal the O.S to fixed this kind of problem:(

I HAVE TRY TO DOWNLOAD THE 2018 VER. AND ITS WORK !!!

 

I dont really know how its work this time, but at least after 4 days trying all those steps and can get start to my work it feels so good Man LOL
