Hello. We are a small civil engineering firm with about 6 people using AutoCAD Civil3D 2020 & 2022. Recently we have been experiencing issues with our programs issuing license checkout timed out. We have a permanent commercial license that is setup on a network. I think this problem started shortly after we had lost power. To temporarily fix the problem we will run the autodesk.nlm.preinstall and it then allows access to the program for a while. Then someone else's license will checkout and it seems to be a vicious circle. We can't figure out the problem and it's important for us to be able to continue using the software as it is our money maker.
If someone could please help if they have experienced anything similar. Thanks!

Hello @Chris_H_AZ,
This issue can be resolved by applying the required licensing updates as a Windows Administrator on your computer. Apply the following updates "Autodesk Licensing Service" and "AdSSO" & make sure the ALS service is running.

We want to make sure you have the Licensing update installed:
Direct link to the update:
AdskLicensingInstaller-win-12.1.0.7121 installer file.
We also want this update:

We also want to make sure all of the Autodesk updates showing in the Autodesk Desktop app are installed .. for both AutoCAD and Autodesk products (licensing)
Recent updates have helped resolve this too.

I tried to follow these steps but they didn't work. I was on a rolling license 2023-2024, not due to auto-renew for another 10 days.
However, I was able to install the latest 2024 version of AutoCAD, and this did fix my issues - weirdly it also fixed my 2023 version, so I'm not sure if a system restart (a (perhaps logical) step which is not currently listed in the instructions above) is also necessary.
it' likely installed one of the Licensing parts needed ...
