Is the WI folder required for installation?

I use the Custom Install option from the Autodesk webpage to create deployments, where I am able to specify the Deployment Image path.  I've noticed that when I extract the deployment a different folder named WI is created outside of the deployment image path.  There's plenty of information about how this is for Web Installs, and can be deleted after the installation.  My question is why isn't ALL of the content for my deployment contained inside of the deployment path I specified?  I typically zip the deployment folder myself, and then use Config. Manager and a powershell script to unzip it and run the installation.  Is the WI folder required in parallel with the deployment folder for the installation to work properly, or is the deployment folder sufficient by itself?

Yes, it's part of the installation ...

If you need space after, you can move it to a new location or delete it. However you might need to find it again for some updates.

Hi Mike,

Thank you for the information.  I thought it might be.  I think this will make deployments more complicated than they should be.  I will miss having a single deployment folder per application.
