Looking to take the Autodesk AutoCAD certification and am wondering if a subscription is needed to take the test. If not, is it required to have at least the trial version installed on your computer? Thanks!

Hi @Anonymous,
With the new certifications https://www.autodesk.com/certification/all-certifications
They can be done online through PearsonVue provided you have a webcam and mic (and a good internet connection).
It's worth noting that you won't have access to the software at any point during the test, instead of being asked questions or being shown simulated sections.
Do you have access to the software elsewhere?
Awesome, so the online certification exam is entirely simulation or question based and will require no subscription or software on the device I'm using to take the exam? Good news for me ![]()
I do have the trial version on my computer but I would like to spend a bit more time studying before taking the exam and my trail is out of time soon. Worked on CAD for a past employer but don't have that license any more.
Hi @Anonymous,
Yes, that is correct. No license is needed for the actual exam as indicated by: 'You will not have access to the software to help you with your answers.' in the FAQs
It's recommended you've had at least 400 hours of experience at the minimum in software for the professional level certification.
