Hello,
I first posted about this problem a month ago... and it still hasn't been solved. I have education license and ran Inventor with it just fine on the first day. Since the second day it has been running in free trial and now even the trial naturally expired. I think it might have been cause by this pop up:
I think I just clicked run because I was literally having a lesson at that moment....
I tried reinstalling Inventor multiple times.... as suggested by agents. Then I tried resetting the license multiple times, even using an admin script. Nope, it still shows free trial.
At one point I tried playing around with the files, hopefully that did not make things worse or anything. However, after all the reinstalls I don't think it should be relevant.
I'm adding pictures to this post that might help visualize the problem (ofcourse I have tried obvious things like "already have a license?"). Everything just goes back to the now expired free trial. Fun fact: autoCAD runs without a problem.
I hope I covered every little detail about my problem, if not I will update you later on.

1. You should have doggedly pursued the resolution of this issue over the past 30-days. (I always run for nearly 30-day trial before Activating my license and recommend that students do the same, but my question is whether you ever actually got a license serial number (that should have been near instantaneous and should show in your http://manage.autodesk.com
See my image below comparing my screen to your screenshot).
2. I always cringe when I see that someone has tried to reinstall... ...that is not a technique for solving licensing issues.

Q1. Do you have a Serial Number for Inventor? (This is a Yes/No question, if Yes - DO NOT post your serial number in a public forum.)
(I haven't downloaded student 2021, but you get the idea.)
My information could be outdated as they licensing was changed in the last year.

Does AutoCAD show a Serial Number on the http://manage.autodesk.com
Hi! Yes, please follow JD's instruction. You need to convert your license. Or, request a new serial number.
Once you have the designated serial number, you can reset your license.
Many thanks!

Maybe if Autodesk customer support wasn't full of incompetent people I wouldn't have to reinstall. Literally 5 agents told me to do just that and some barely spoke english.... As far as I know, student license is sign in not serial number. Some agent even suggested that there is no serial number and there is no way for me to get one. As I said, the software worked for one day on sign in. For AutoCAD I have the same "sign in" option and it works. I sign in and it runs. No serial number, no free trial, etc.
I had been trying to solve it for two weeks and got fed up with it, hoping it would naturally go back to student license when the free trial runs out.
Sir, you can NOT imagine how very much pleased I would be to get a serial number instead of this sign in thing... However from what I have been told and read, students do not get serial numbers anymore. That was apparently the way to do it back when they got access for 3 years. Now it's 1 year and sign in access.
