Inventor browser download

Hi,

    I'm now downloading Inventor using browsed download method(Download manger keeps showing error). Total size of 2017 version was around 11.56 GB, but in this method I got 3 separate files

Inventor_2017_English_WIn_64bit_dlm_001_003.sfx.exe ---->2GB

Inventor_2017_English_WIn_64bit_dlm_002_003.sfx.exe ---->2GB

Inventor_2017_English_WIn_64bit_dlm_003_003.sfx.exe ----> 1.3GB

From the name I get there's on;y 3 files but total size is only  5.3GB

Is this normal?? I disabled " Pop-Up Block " in mozilla before downloading.

Also Can I use same downloaded file for installing in another pc??

Thanks

The downloads that you have are based on 3 compressed files.  When they get extracted then you will have the full blown software media for installation.

However I would recommend that you download and install per the following steps to make sure you have a proper download

1. Access the Autodesk Virtual Agent (link is in my signature) and follow the download links to your product.
2. Download all of the parts (some applications only have a single part to download) for your product first. Do not continue until all of the parts have fully downloaded.
3. Navigate to your download folder location and extract (double click) part _001_00X.sfx.exe (or the single file download).
4. In a few seconds the extraction will start and prompt you to extract to C:\Autodesk.
5. Once the extraction is finished, the installation will automatically start.
6. Follow the installation steps for your product

If you want the full recommended installation steps, click on the installation link in my signature.

Good luck on your installation.

@Mark.Lancaster

Thanks for the reply. 🙂

I have two systems. SO can I use the same downloaded file for installing software in both computer ,like  copy all 3 downloaded files and extract it in the other system

or do I have to download again in that system.

Do i require internet connection for installation??  and also for using software?

Its just a download, doesn't matter how many times its download or which machine its downloaded on or if its copied from one machine to another.

"I have two systems."

Are you a student?  Students can install on 2 devices.

If this is a commercial license just make sure the application is not running at the same time on these 2 machines.

"Do i require internet connection for installation??  and also for using software?"

That's why the Virtual Agent works for everybody...  No internet connection is needed for installation, just to download that parts.

No internet is required to run the software but if this is a term (desktop subscription) license then you need to connect to the internet every 30 days (from the last time you connected) for reactivation of the product.  Smiley Wink
