Inventor and AutoCAD can't find network license, while Vault Professional can (2021)

Hello,

We're currently migrating to 2021 and we now have a problem where Inventor and AutoCAD can't get a license from the license manager (network license), but Vault Professional can.

They both give different errors, see below.

The license server is working properly, because from a different workstation, I can get all licenses and also LMTools shows that for every product there should be more than enough licenses available.

Any idea's?

I believe it has something to do with rights/policies, so maybe there can be a registry entry or something which can't be accessed?

Start with the basics... does the license file include valid entitlements for Inventor and AutoCAD or have they expired?

Submit your license file here to find out: http://www.licenseparser.com/

If they haven't expired... can anyone else in the company access these products? Are they in the same office or are you all working remotely? Are you using VPN to connect to the license server?

The error you are getting indicates that Inventor is trying to use a single user license... so which is it?

Hi,

As said in my original post, I can access the licenses from another machine and use all products.

Nothing is expired. So the license file is ok.

We also have a Citrix environment running Autodesk software.

With 2017 products, we didn't have the problem, but since a lot has changed in the way licenses are kept, there now is a problem in 2021.

We know that the problem probably lies in the rights/policies, because the development image of the Citrix environment doesn't have the issue.

We can research it ourselves, but if anyone already has detailed information about this, this will help us of course.

The AutoCAD error 'ADLSDK_STATUS_AUTH_PENDING' seems like a general error, where it's waiting to authenticate the license and has many error codes as far as I can see.

When I look at the license status in AdskLicensingInstHelper, it shows all the correct settings like, servertype, method and servername, so that shouldn't be the problem as well.

The problem is fixed.

Somehow it had something to do with the shortcuts created in the Citrix environment.

If we would startup via the Inventor.exe file, it didn't have the problem.

Then we created new shortcuts with exactly the same data/settings and that worked.
