I am having trouble getting Inventor 2020 to install. After the download and installation is complete a notification displays "Installation Failed." I have tried uninstalling all previous versions and reinstalling and that did not help. I have attached the installation log if that will help diagnose the issue. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you
It looks like you're downloading a trial from the Edu page, can you try a Browser Download from Autodesk Virtual Agent instead...
1. Clear the temporary files on your PC
2. Delete the Inventor installer from C:\Autodesk or C:\Autodesk\WI (if present)
3. Temporarily disable your antivirus and UAC
4. Go to https://ava.autodesk.com/ and click on "Download Autodesk Products"
5. Type in "Inventor Professional 2020"
6. Select "I have an existing license" (don't worry if you don't, you can still use the download for 30-day trial)
7. "This Computer"
8. "Continue within AVA"
9. "Having trouble? Try Browser Download. Part 1 | Part 2 | Part 3" -> download all parts, once all are downloaded run the 1st part (with 001_003 in the name of the file)
See if that helps... if not, please post the fresh install log.
HI @Anonymous
So I'm seeing you're having an issue with the C++ 2013:
/12/17:16:12:41 Administrator COMPUTER6 Rollback: Microsoft Visual C++ 2013 Redistributable (x64) component is exe :Ignored Rollback.
2019/12/17:16:12:41 Administrator COMPUTER6 Rollback: Microsoft Visual C++ 2013 Redistributable (x86) component is exe :Ignored Rollback.
Can we do this:
Lets reinstall the C++ as shown and given here:
Then let's use the following download:
Inventor Professional 2020: English links:

While downloading clean your %temp% folder.

Although you were probably unaware of this, but when you post or share stuff here, please make sure it doesn't include your personal information such as your serial #. This is a world wide user forum and that type of info should not be included in your posting. Granted the installation log file helped us to determine your root cause (but it did contain your serial #)... So in the future remove or blur it out before posting. I will have the moderator remove it in order to protect your information.
Most likely the root cause is the new licensing mechanism but I need to review this log file C:\Users\<user name>\AppData\Local\Temp\Inventor2020Install.log to confirm. Can you provide?

Morning @Mark.Lancaster I messaged the DA to get the file removed earlier ...
Didn't want to draw to much attention to the info in his log...
