Hi,
the following thing kept me busy for the last day and I'm close to giving up: I wanted to get started with an AutoCAD Architecture 2022 student license, so I downloaded AutoCAD Architecture 2022 and installed it. On first startup of it, I get the error message box:
"No Profile name exists: AutoCAD Architecture (Global)
Will create Profile with default settings."
At first I didn't think much of it, but when I started going through tutorials, I started wondering why the"Build" panel in the ribbon is missing. After some Googling and reading on the forums, it all pointed towards me using the wrong Profile. I double checked everything in the Settings. The right profile is active and I didn't launch the standard AutoCAD profile. And then I connected the dots to the error message that popped up on the first start. Somehow the profile itself must have not been installed. Weird. I reset AutoCAD to default settings using the start menu entry and the same thing happens again: Error message, default profile, no Architecture features. Meh.
After that I uninstalled AutoCAD and everything Autodesk related multiple times and installed it using different installers: Autodesk App Manager, Website download, custom installer. All to no avail. The error keeps happening. Inbetween the installation attempts, I purged all of the AutoCAD and Autodesk folders from the Windows user profiles and the registry to really get a clean setup. No chance. With the default profile AutoCAD works, but I am missing the Architecture features. The other two Architecture profiles that should be there (US and something else) are missing as well. So ALL the custom profiles are missing, not just the standard Global one.
By this time, I think I have tried everything I can and I have no idea why this is happening. I am running a current Windows 10 Education 20H2.
It seems that the installer just misses installing some files, but I don't know why. Is there a log file the installer creates that we could check out to see if something went wrong?
edit: I attached a ZIP with a bunch of installer log files for you. Let me know if you need another specific log file. I just grabbed a bunch that "felt right".
Hello @G33KatWork,
You can try to import your AutoCAD Architecture settings manually, by following the steps outlined in this helpful article, "How to export, import, backup, and transfer settings to and from AutoCAD".
