Hi @Anonymous,

Welcome to the community!

Sorry to hear about the issue. Did you download the .exe from the virtual agent or from the install now option in your account? I would recommend getting it from the virtual agent.

If you want, you can also request physical media from us here.

I have same problem, I tried all three options of downloading it: Full download through the browser, through download manager, and your online installer. All fail. How the hell? No other installations fail on my computer.

I downloaded full installed and tried unpacking Autodesk, it freezes half-done.

stuckForever.PNG

It's using 0% CPU and Disk. I tried restarting and it has no effect.

Then, i tried the download manager, it gives me an error too:

Capture5.PNG

Ofc. this UI provides zero useful information on what the issue might be, or how I might go about fixing it.

So the nI tried Normal installation, and that fails too:

 Capture2.PNG

I noticed that that leaves a 10mb file in the same folder, so I tried running that, and it gives an error too:

Capture1.PNG

Jesus!

I attached a log for your convenience, maybe you will make something out of it.

Hello @Anonymous,

The "Communication failure" message pops up when you try to run the .exe file from a "Install Now". Since the install didn't work try only the browser download links to extract the install files and run through these steps.

  1. Conduct a Clean Uninstall of the program use MSfixitTool to complete the uninstall
  2. Log in as an Administrator
  3. Empty your TEMP folder. To open the TEMP folder, type %TEMP% in the address bar of Windows Explorer and hit Enter
  4. Temporarily disable your Antivirus software & Firewall
  5. Temporarily disable UAC:  Windows 7Windows 10
  6. Download all of the parts Autodesk Virtual Agent
  7. Locate the download folder and extract (double click) part _001_00X.sfx.exe. If you have a permission issue right click and select, "Run as administrator"
  8. Files will be directed to C:\Autodesk
  9. Follow the prompts to install the program

I hope this answered your question or resolved the issue, if so please click Kudos or the "thumbs-up!" Did my response help resolve the issue? Please "Accept As Solution" to help others in the community.

None of your suggestions work, unpacking an archive still gets stuck at ~70%.

Could you please check what is 'Error 0x250000ff'

Why do I have to disable UAC or uninstall Autodesk - you have a specific problem that your archive does not extract itself. I have checked on several computers in my company. The original writer of this post has the same problem. Please fix it, the software costs a fortune and this is a disgrace. If you can't make a self extracting archive use a Zip - that's why it exists.

Hello. If you search Google for 'Error 0x250000ff', you will find that this is a Windows error. A bit of data can not be read for some reason. We have no idea why. This is why we try basic things like disabling AV, UAC, clearing temp folder, etc. Do you have any 3rd party extractor programs installed? I've seen 3rd party programs interfere with extract routines. It's a possibility. If you do, you may want to uninstall temporarily to test.

The installer should work fine, there is some sort of variable on your machines that is causing the problem.
