Hi @Anonymous,

In short - Not recommended,

Basically, Inventor creates many files that get stored on your user and on the OS drive, so you'll need some OS drive space regardless. Whilst you could get it to work it's not recommended since it could break pretty quickly, you'd be better off getting a new drive - If this is for a desktop then this shouldn't be an issue, with a laptop, it will vary.

This was discussed a while back: https://forums.autodesk.com/t5/inventor-forum/installing-inventor-on-external-ssd/m-p/6597860#M61537...

NO ...

You need it on the OS drive.    Drivers / Hardware / Registry ...etc the list goes on

nothing is stopping you from doing this but you will run into performance issues by doing this & the drive will always have to be connected anytime you need to use Inventor
