I need help switching from a Student license to my purchased license.

I recently bought the AEC collection 2 days ago and have all of the software available to download. I was impatient and downloaded a student version of Revit to work on until the reseller got back to me with the software download info. Now I can't seem to switch my license over from a student version to a full paid license. I tried logging in under my account and it's still a student account. I put in the serial number and it's still the same. I uninstalled the Revit software and STILL a student version.

Please help!

Welcome to the Autodesk User's Community..

First did you create anything in the student version?  If you did you are unable to use this information because it has an educational stamp buried in the file.  In addition putting an educational version on a asset belonging to a company is a violation and your company can be fined.  So please beware of that...

To what software are you referring? Because the part about the edu stamp is not true for AutoCAD and its verticals.

To @Anonymous - you could have just installed the software and ran it as a trial (±30 days) until you got the licensing figured out.

Granted you visually don't see the educational watermark anymore but technically the educational stamp is still buried in the file data.  That's how Autodesk knows if a file has been saved in a free educational version..

Yeah, I thought the last couple days I was working in the paid-licensed version. But it was the Student version, I only downloaded that to have something to open right away as I got my new work computer setup. I started the original file at home with Revit LT, so no worries about using the student version illegally. I’m currently uninstalling all Autodesk software and will try again. Hopefully that works. This is frustrating, especially trying to learn to use an iMac. I’m used to a PC.

@Mark.Lancaster - educate me, I'm confused here. How would a person download and use the student version, without obtaining a student license? There is no difference between the student version and commercial version until the licensing is applied, correct? (or maybe there is in Revit?).  Thanks.

I'm a little confused in how they reached this point as well.  But (well everybody plug the ears/cover their eyes and you didn't hear this from me)...    Technically there's no checking going on..  You or I or anybody else can even get a student license (and be dishonest about it)..     In the end I'm wonder if the OP actually got a 30 day trial..

For your other reply about the educational mark..  Part of what you are saying is true but...

Update:  @rkmcswain  reading more of the posting you shared..  Anyhow its my understanding (and I could be wrong)..  The actual EDU information still resides in the file no matter what.  But I will reach out to my contacts and confirm this...

I found the solution. I had to uninstall all Autodesk software on my computer, including the licensing, and reinstall Revit. The license is the paid version now.
