Help with activating education license for 3ds Max 2016

So, I registered my 3-year education license for 3ds Max 2016 back in March of 2016, and have had it installed since January of 2017 (after my computer crashed back in June of 2016). I haven't had any problems with it that I can recall, until recently that is. Whenever I try to open up my version of Max 2016, a window comes up asking me to reactivate my license ("Activate.png", below).

After clicking "Activate", I have 2 options to choose from (Option1_1.png, below). Upon choosing the first option, I am simply told thank you for activating, and that 3ds Max 2016 has been successfully activated (Option1_2.png, below). I have also received an email from noreply@autodesk.com each time that I have tried this, which includes an activation code (Option1_3.png, below). Clicking "Finish" results in 3ds Max opening normally, although closing and reopening just brings me back to the first activation window.

When I choose the second option, 16 boxes boxes appear (Option2_1.png, below). I attempted to enter the activation code from the email that I mentioned previously, however, there were 2 boxes that remained blank (Option2_2.png, below). Clicking on "Next" results in an error, as expected (Option2_3.png, below).

If anyone would be able to help me figure out what's going on, then that would be great. Thanks.

Hello @Anonymous,

It seems like you are experiencing an activation loop. These steps outlined here will help clean out the licensing information & any interfering application causing this issue. Make sure when signing into your Autodesk applications you are using the Email & Password used on the educational site & make sure you are not using different emails.

Hi, thanks for the reply. I've tried this a few times, and after reopening the software, I keep on experiencing the activation loop.

Hello @Anonymous,

I see, also try the steps below testing one at a time to see if it resolves it.

  1. Sign out & exit out of all Autodesk applications from Task Manager & the Task Bar
  2. The Windows profile is set to standard user & needs to be changed to Administrator (verify)
  3. Temporarily disable security settings like Antivirus, Firewall & UAC on your system
  4. Resetting and Changing Your Autodesk Account Password
  5. Subscription Licensing Error: "Establish an Internet connection to continue"
