When I try to install the Flame Trial 2021.2 Update I get "Installation Failed". It says to check the installer log but when I search for the installer log on my machine there are 0 results.
When installing it gets through Autodesk Licensing and AdSSO, then it gets the majority of the way through Flame Trial Edition Application but I notice it fails right after Validating Packages.
I'm on a MacbookPro from Mid 2014 2.5GHz Intel Core i7 with 16GB Ram and have upgraded to High Sierra 10.13.6 and have 150GBs free.
I first tried installing the trial when I was on OS 10.12 When I started troubleshooting I saw that it needed at least 10.13 so I ran all of the updates. Not sure if trying to install it on an old OS first is causing the problem.
Please help, my class starts in less than two hours and I've been working on it for hours. I submitted a support case last night to Autodesk but thought I might have better luck here.
Hi @Anonymous,
Are there no logfiles at the locations indicated here: https://knowledge.autodesk.com/search-result/caas/sfdcarticles/sfdcarticles/Where-to-find-Autodesk-installation-logs-on-your-Mac.html
Did you run a previous version of Flame as there are some prep/recovery tools needed if you're moving from an older version of MacOS.
Thanks, that's most likely what I need to do since I had a Flame trial on my machine years ago. There are no logfiles on my machine, I've searched a few times but can't seem to find anything. The prep/recovery tools are trying to run something in Terminal asking for a password but when I type in my system password it says it's the wrong one.
Hi @Anonymous,
Have you tried enabling the root user and running the tools as admin: https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT204012
Turns out I don't have enough Vram. Unfortunately I can't run Flame on my machine.
