Hello,
i was able to download Revit 2021 in my H: Drive . Is it possible to copy the downloaded file to another drive that has more space to install it ? I noticed that i couldn't install it in my H: Drive because it doesnt have enough memory space. My installation process never went beyond 10% (see attached picture), then an error message pops up to tell me to retry the installation process.
what can i do?
Thanks.

Based on your screen captures, it appears that you used the Autodesk Download Manager. This means you should have the entire install folder stored on your H: drive and yes, it can be copied to another drive (or even another system). The key is that you have to copy the entire Revit 2021 folder from the extracted location.

unfortunately, it still didn't install. it got to about 35% and started counting down back to 0%, then showed the same error message "Install failed. Please exit and restart the install."
please not that the folder I copied it to has 259GB free space; while the Revit 2021 file is about 15GB.
how can i solve this? Thanks.
The most important question is how much space is available on your main C:\ drive. Independent of where the installation files are stored, the install requires available space on the C:\ drive for the creation of temporary files. Additionally, many Revit pre-requisites and some components can only be installed on the C:\ drive.
This page includes the system requirements for Revit 2021 and the minimum drive space is listed as 30 GB. For suggestion that may help to improve your results, this page may be helpful.

Hi
thanks for your message. I redirected my 'Temp' files to my G: Drive that has 259GB free space; as the link (https://knowledge.autodesk.com/support/autocad/troubleshooting/caas/sfdcarticles/sfdcarticles/Instal...
you sent suggested . As I currently only have about 3GB space remaining in my C:/ Drive . My computer meets other system requirements needed to run this software.
it still gave me the same error message.
3 GB of free space on your C:\ drive is not sufficient to successfully install Revit 2021. The only solution at this point is to clear up another 27 GB of space on your C:\ drive. This action would get you around 30 GB of free space on your C:\ drive, which is the minimum required for the Revit 2021 installation.

Hello,
I'm happy to say that I freed up to 31GB in my C:Drive and I was able to install my Revit 2021. Though I got an error message at the end of the installation, saying it wasn't properly installed (please see photo), and that just the basics were installed.
Do I really need to reinstall? as only the basics were installed?
Do I need to free up more space on my C:Drive for this re-installation?
Thanks
At this point the core of Revit 2021 is installed and I would not recommend uninstalling anything at this point. Instead, reboot your system and delete the content in the following folders:
C:\Windows\Temp
%temp% - This shortcut will redirect you to the Windows temp folder, which is typically C:\Users\User_Name\AppData\Local\Temp.
This will remove any leftover files from your previous installation and free up additional space for future actions. At this point, I would run the Revit 2021 installer again and it should provide you the option to install the components that failed to install in your original installation.
If you encounter issues during your next installation attempt, please post your install.log file found in the C:\Users\User_Name\AppData\Local\Autodesk\ODIS folder. It will provide further details on which components are failing to install.

Hello,
I deleted the contents in the 'Temp ' folder.
Then ran the Revit 2021 installer again, which provided the option to install missing components (please see the screenshot 1).
When i clicked 'install now', another pop up dialog appeared saying that Revit 2021 was already installed (please see screenshot 2).
I am now also attaching my install.log file (please see screenshot 3)
Hello,
just in case the pictures didn't attach in my earlier reply, please find attached.
These image are a bit confusing and it does appear that there is an underlying Revit component that has not been installed successfully. Unfortunately, the images do not provide enough information to identify what component(s) are failing to install. If you could post the install.log file, we can review it, determine which component(s) are missing, and then address those install issues.

I'm not sure how to post the .log file, but i have put them in a zipped folder and herewith attached.
Hello again,
The zip file you posted included the files that I needed and I was able to identify that the only component that failed to install was the Autodesk Desktop App. This component is used to display the available updates for installed products and its absence will not impact the functionality of Revit 2021 in any way. At this point, you should be ready to use Revit on your system. ![]()

Thank you so much!!!! You have been very helpful and I've accepted your answer as a solution ![]()
Thanks again!
