@Anonymous

Not a Maya user/expert along with not being a user of ubuntu..

Review this: http://lost-triangle.com/2016/09/05/install-maya-2017-on-ubuntu-16-04/

Also just keep in mind ubuntu is not a typically operating system that gets supported on this forum.

You have to convert the .rpm packages to .deb packages using alien like so

sudo alien -cv *.rpm

Then install the packages using dpkg

sudo dpkg -i *.deb

Be sure to install all the requirements along the way good luck.

There is a number of things you have to do more than just converting to
.deb. Maya takes a bunch of specific libraries that you can place into a
certain directory in the Maya install folders. These libraries are
different depending o n the os you have installed. There is also a way
to set the licensing as well.

Read this site, https://linuxhint.com/install_autodesk_maya_ubuntu_1804/

Keep in mind there might be little differences on your system but it
will get you in the right direction to getting up and running. Good luck.
