Error code 1603 when installing Inventor 2021

Hi all,

I cannot seem to get Inventor 2021 (education version) to install after a fresh windows install and partial data recovery on a drive.

I have tried clearing the TEMP folder and deleting all autodesk files on the drive I am installing on.

I even tried installing 2020 and 2019 and they did not work. I have attached log files from when I tried to install it both with and without the content library so if anyone is able to decode what is written in there.

Have you tried using the browser download method? It tends to be more reliable, the downloads can be found at http://manage.autodesk.com/ -> products and services -> Inventor -> Downloads. 3 files should download, if not disable your popup blocker, run them as admin.

It appears the licensing mechanism is not installed properly or didn't start.

Can you confirm if this Windows service is there and started

@Mark.Lancaster, Thanks for the reply, seems it is not installed and when I try to install it, it doesn't work, just the pop up "are you sure" that windows does then I hit yes then it has the loading wheel for a second or two then it stops

What are you trying to install or load?  The licensing mechanism?

I figured out a solution, I still had an old folder in my %appdata% folder I think.

I searched through both drives on my computer for "autodesk" and deleted everything.
