Hello @Anonymous

Could you send us the log as @Mark.Lancaster  mentioned, In some cases the cause of the error 1603 is the ADSKLicenisng that fails to install or to start, First can you go to the following folder :C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Autodesk Shared\AdskLicensing, there should be the latest version of the ADSKLicensing, the 10.1.1. If you have an older version you can install the latest one from these link. Once you install it can you check in the Service Tab if there is a service called Autodesk Desktop Licensing Service, if the service is not running the try to set it to automatic and start the service. After these try the Installation of Revit again.

let me know if you need more help

Wish you all a very nice day

@Mark.Lancaster , @rouling  here is the log you guys asked to help me out.

@rouling , what you told reminds me something I've tried. I tried to manually start the Autodesk Desktop Licensing Service, but I noticed two things:

- When I try to execute it from the task manager it promps a cmd screen but nothing happens

- The Autodesk Desktop Licensing Service isn't simply not running, it does not appear at all in the services menu!

Even after uninstalling everything from autodesk and then removing it from the windows register, and then reinstalling everything this won't show up in the services, not even with stopped status.

Thanks in advance!

Hello @Anonymous

Thank you for the log, I can see that the Licensing part is not working as it should. Can you check in the following folder: C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Autodesk Shared\AdskLicensing if all the files are there as show in the screenshot below?

ADSKLI.JPG

If there is missing the version.ini you can create it with a notepad and change the extension to .ini. Inside the file you need to add the following:

[General]
version=10.1.1.66

After these try to launch the service again. Let me know if you need more help

Could you check if the Local Service account has FULL CONTROL permissions to these folders:

C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Autodesk Shared\AdskLicensing

C:\ProgramData\Autodesk\AdskLicensingService

If not, make the changes, then try uninstalling the service and reinstalling it again with admin rights and antivirus disabled (as per the instructions from the first link in your first post)?

Well, I tried again just to be sure, and it didn't work. I attached a file
describing the error. That doesnt give us any direction?
