Desktop Connector Install Fails "The application has failed to start because its side-by-side configuration is incorrect."

Having trouble installing Desktop Connector 15.5.0.1684. Seems no matter which machine I attempt to install it on I get this message... 

"The application has failed to start because its side-by-side configuration is incorrect."

I've seen reference to this error on support pages related to launching some Autodesk applications, but not during the installation. 

I've tried uninstalling the previous version.

I've tried on fresh installs of Windows 10 and 11. 

I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling C++ applications. 

I've tried it on 5 different computers. 

Spent way to many hours trying to figure this out with no luck.  Anyone have any ideas?

And more importantly, did you restart your PC yet?

Hi pendean. Thanks. That is the knowledge article I was referring to. 

Tried all that even though that article is referring to an application that is already installed and getting that error, not installing the application.

Several reboots. Multiple machines. Even happening on a fresh install of Windows.

I've redownloaded the installer to make sure it wasnt corrupt.
