Hi dear people,

I'm a former student that needs some help with installing the new Revit 2016. The problem is that every time I try to install Revit (about 10 times) the same mistake shows up.... I have no idea what to doijih.png

Hi kris145y,

Sorry to hear that you are having problems with your installation.  I would like to suggest Re-downloading the installation files.

First, delete the folder c:\Autodesk.

Then to download try the following:

  1. Click on the following link to access the Autodesk Virtual Agent
  2. Click on Download Links
  3. Click on Revit Products
  4. Then on Revit
  5. Select the appropriate product and click the link to download. Note: Revit 2016 64bit requires two files to downloaded.  You will need to download and activate each link separately.  I would also verify the sizes of the downloaded files – one is 2.0GB, the other is 704MB.

Sometimes it's necessary to perform the following steps to assure a successful installation:

  1. Make sure you Logon to your computer as an Administrator.
  2. Empty your TEMP folder. To open the TEMP folder type %TEMP% in the address bar of Windows Explorer and hit Enter.  Delete all the contents of this folder.  Don't worry if deleting doesn’t remove everything by skipping files.
  3. Disable your Antivirus software. All Antivirus programs are different.  You may need to consult your Antivirus website to learn how to temporarily disable your service.
  4. Disable UAC. The following link will instruct you on how to disable UAC:

Turn User Account Control on or off

Double clicking on either file will begin the installation process.  Please respond back if this worked.
