Change License Type - Multi User to Single license

Short story, most of our Cad users made the switch to single license a month ago and it went seamlessly.  A fee of our users did not follow the instructions provided and did not make the switch from Network to Single license.

The switch was super easy a month ago.  We just used the manage license option under our autodesk account and changed the license type.

Now, the manage license option is not available for these 4 users and they cannot change the account type.  I've searched high and low on the internet for answers and none appear to emulate our direct issue.

So, we have 4 cad users dead in the water until we can switch their license type.  Any ideas?  Or is there another Autodesk forum i should post this in??

I am currently working on my 2024 update to this script.  I hope to have it out within the next few days.  It's definitely a popular tool this time of year.

All this scripting and product keys and what not just to change license type??  Not to mention a 3rd party had to create a tool to make it happen?  What are we paying autodesk all this $ for?  This should be simple.

this is how Autodesk wants you do it: https://www.autodesk.com/support/technical/article/caas/sfdcarticles/sfdcarticles/Forcing-re-activat...

it used to be simple pre 2020 releases

The licensing tool makes it even easier? Download: Licensing Support Tool (autodesk.com)

I made a quick & dirty script - it's basically just one line:

AdskLicensingSupportTool.exe --resetlicensemethod ALL:USER

Run this on the affected machines and you're done. Admin permissions needed.

Thanks, I know I found that link yesterday and installed the program but it never showed up anywhere in my programs. I tried again this morning and i run the .exe and click the OK button and then nothing.  The program doesn't show up anywhere.  Tried it twice.  Any ideas?

We just did uninstall-reinstall on the machines we needed up and running yesterday.  I still have 2 machines that need updated.  I'll try this on them.

I think there's nothing to install. Just unpack the ZIP-file, open a command prompt and execute the command with the path where you unpacked the files.

I just posted my updated reset tool for 2020-2024 here:

https://forums.autodesk.com/t5/installation-licensing/how-to-reset-autodesk-2020-2024-licensing/td-p...

It works a little better than previous versions.  The methodology has recently changed and the Autodesk KB articles and tools are not updated to reflect these changes.

Good Luck!
