cannot install Revit 2020

Material Library is all greyed out and does not work. I believe its because my Revit 2020 rendering features are disabled.

I have done some research and one solution says to uninstall and reinstall rendering libraries. I uninstalled  however, there is no installer in my Autodesk folder on my workstation, Lenovo P52.

Another solution says to perform an Autodesk Clean Uninstall of Revit 2020 but its confusing as I don't see any Revit 2020 in the uninstall tool.

A third solution says the disabled rendering is a result of no ownership of the files when downloading which kind of makes sense. At the end of Revit 2020 download a screen pops up asking me to login into Autodesk A360 to download rendering libraries which I struggled with due to needing a security code so, I left it for another time.

Apparently, the rendering libraries are downloaded and all I need to do is go into the Materials Folder security tab / advanced and edit ownership. Unfortunately, it did not work.

Therefore I visited my control panel / programs and uninstalled all Revit files to start over. I even spoke with Microsoft to learn how to permanently turn off Windows Defender. ( I didn't want to risk it turning back on to look for Windows updates ) I then tried to download Revit 2020 from my Autodesk account... 46 minutes later the message says : "Some products failed to install. ( all of them ). There was a problem downloading the software. Try downloading from a browser." Really ??

Perform a Clean Uninstall as per the instructions below:

https://knowledge.autodesk.com/customer-service/download-install/remove-products/clean-uninstall

Clear out your %temp% folder, temporarily disable UAC and antivirus. Never use "install now" from your Autodesk account, use the Browser Download method:

https://knowledge.autodesk.com/customer-service/download-install/download/about-download-methods/bro...

If you do everything by the letter, it should work and Revit 2020 should install without missing any components. If you encounter any issues post your installation log so we can advise:

https://knowledge.autodesk.com/search-result/caas/sfdcarticles/sfdcarticles/Location-of-the-log-file...

Good luck!

Thank you.

Can I download Revit 2020 using Microsoft Edge ?

I have followed the clean uninstall but not all Temp files will delete.  aria-debug-13932 is open in One Drive.  FXSAPIDebug Log File is open in Internet Explorer.

I was required to shut down Adobe Creative Cloud and Photoshop in order to remove all their temp files.

I have uninstalled some Autodesk programs from my control panel but I have no idea if they are peripheral to Revit 2020. Do I uninstall any file that has Autodesk in the name ?? I have Autocad and don't want to mess it up.

As for the " remove any remaining peripheral  files related to the product your're installing" c:\ Program Files\Autodesk, etc., I can only make a guess based on the "last modified date" and all the Autodesk files state Sept 2018. Therefore I assume they have nothing to do with my present problems trying to download Revit 2020.

Okay. Regardless of my last communication I have gone ahead with browser download.  When asked whether to run or save the exe files I selected "save" each time I was prompted.

Now I am watching the download progress and find it unusual to see 18 downloads ??  dlm 7 x 3, dlm 6 x 3, dlm 5 x 3, dlm 4 x 3, dlm 3 x 2, dlm 2 x 2, dlm 1 x 2.

When I look at the partial downloads in my folder I see 7 partial downloads. dlm 7 x 1, dlm 6 x 1, dlm 5 x 1, dlm 4 x 1, dlm 3 x 1, dlm 2 x 1, dlm 1 x 1.

Any browser should work. There should be 7 parts only, sounds like your browser is downloading them multiple times for whatever reason. If they downloaded ok, just keep the parts 001-007 and delete the duplicates and run the first part (001) only to get them all extracted onto your C drive and when done it will prompt you to install.

Alternatively, you can also use AVA to download:

https://ava.autodesk.com/

(Click on "Download products", type in Revit 2020, click "yes" to new experience, it will take you to a new window, type Revit 2020 again... choose "I have an existing license", continue with AVA, click on Revit 2020 (again...), click "yes" to the prompt and you'll be given a Download button (ignore it) and links to all 7 parts)

Hi, for a strange reason I tried 3 times to download Revit 2020 using Mozilla Browser and it failed in all 3 occasions, I decided then to use Microsoft Edge and finally it was successful.

Revit will not install. I am using Microsoft edge browser to download it then when I go to install it, it either pauses or fails to install. My computer is a new surface book so I know it can install it and I have plenty of storage. Please help.
