This is not an Inventor issue and should be posted in the Installation and Licensing forum.

Can you check to see if there are any logs in your personal temp (%temp%) folder around the time you started your installation.   In addition have you disable your anti-virus and set Windows User Access Control (UAC) to never notify?

Your log appears to be pointing to a code that requires your machine to be reboot first before this can be installed..  Have you rebooted?

Hi all, I had the same error message on a user's computer with version 6.2 an 6.3, and I found a solution!  I launched regedit and look for all the registry keys containing the string “Autodesk Desktop Connector” and found 2 of them. Then I removed these keys and their containers. There was an older version previously installed and after uninstalling this version, these keys were still present.  After this, the installation terminated successfully!
