The install fails consistently no matter what I've tried. I've been through numerous threads on here with advice and tried everything listed - installing with new account, clean uninstall including all registry items, emptying TEMP folder, disabled all security etc. but still no joy.
There are two things that I think could be the issue:
1 - I upgraded the main hard drive a little while ago so could be a permissions issue, backed up by this red text in the install log.
Directory Access: ProgramFiles
---Path: C:\Program Files
---Exists = True
---Read = True
---Write = False
---Applies To = all
Directory Access: ProgramFiles(x86)
---Path: C:\Program Files (x86)
---Exists = True
---Read = True
---Write = False
---Applies To = x64
(Edit-Manually changing permissions means I now don't get this as part of the failure - no red text)
2 - The Autodesk Licensing Service is not listed in the Services on the computer any more and I cannot get it to run at all. Is there anything that would be stopping this?
Here's the error text from the log:

I know this a couple of days old but do you still need assistance on this?
Your log file is indicating the new licensing mechanism is failing. Is this Windows service here and started.

No, there is no Autodesk Desktop Licensing Service listed at all and won't start when I try and run it from the exe.
When you go to start it... What does it state?
Are you running the exe that is located here C:\Autodesk\<Autodesk Product>\x86\AdskLicensing <-- Meaning you would've downloaded and extracted the software media to your machine.

In my opinion it sounds like your firewall is blocking ports.. Do you have the firewall enabled on your machine?

That's done it. Think it was Windows Defender that was causing the issue. Thanks for your help.

we have seen this issue recently.
could you please check the pop up blocker is enabled or not? if not, please enable the pop up blocker and then re-download and install the product.
could you please check the licensing component is up to date or not?

Please delete the downloaded files from download folder and c:/autodesk and then restart the system.
then re-download the prodcut and install.
